Tony Robydek’s Biography

Tony Robydek is a highly experienced golf professional with over 50 years in the game and 26 years dedicated to teaching. His passion for golf and commitment to player development have made him a respected instructor for golfers of all skill levels, from beginners to PGA Tour professionals.

Tony began his PGA Professional career in 2001 as an Assistant Golf Professional at Oakbrook Golf Course in Lakewood, WA. In 2003, he transitioned to Canterwood Golf & Country Club, where he spent eight years refining his teaching approach while coaching a diverse range of players, including aspiring amateurs and seasoned professionals. In 2012, he further honed his skills at Brookdale Golf Course, where he completed his PGA Membership.

An accomplished competitor, Tony has tested his game at the highest levels. In 1999, he reached the second stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School, showcasing his ability to compete among elite players. He claimed victory at the 2005 Washington PGA Assistants Championship and followed it up with a runner-up finish at the 2007 Washington Open. That same year, he secured a win at the Budweiser Open in Tri-Cities. His competitive success continued with 12 Hudson Cup qualifications and five PGA National Championship appearances. In 2021, he was named the PNW PGA Rolex Senior Player of the Year, and in 2023, he competed in the U.S. Senior Open.

Tony’s teaching philosophy centers on strong pre-swing fundamentals—grip, posture, and alignment—ensuring players build a solid foundation for long-term success. He believes in helping students understand their golf swing, making the game more enjoyable and accessible for golfers at every level. Having trained dozens of Division 1 college athletes, Tony is dedicated to guiding players toward their goals, whether they aim to improve their weekend rounds or compete at the highest levels of the sport.
