PING Golf has been synonymous with high-quality golf equipment since their founding in 1967 by former GE engineer Karsten Solheim. In 1957, Solhiem began by constructing putters in his garage out of frustration stemming from the inadequate quality of putters at the time. The birth of PING came with the release of the PING 1A putter. Over half a century later, PING now has several product lines and sells all types of high quality golf clubs. After making a huge splash in the golf industry with his Anser putter, Solheim began working on developing irons, and though he didn't have access to state of the art technology to test the prototypes his ingenuity was all he needed. He had his son drive him 100 miles an hour in the desert and held his prototype irons out the window in order to check the drag caused by a typical swing.

Today, PING is operated by Karsten Solheim's son, John. While they are no longer hoisting clubs out of a car to check drag the innovation and commitment to building top quality clubs persists. There's no doubt that PING clubs are designed for discerning golfers who know what they want out of their clubs. Each series has its own characteristics that that set it apart from the other, and each series is specifically designed for particular swing styles to achieving specific results.
